Spielberg and Will Smith to remake Oldboy?
I’m not sure I like the sound of that.I’m highly skeptical too, but that is some “sincerest form of flattery” that is well-deserved.
I seem to recall that the media protrayed the Virginia Tech shooter “sincerest form of flattery” for the film as evidence that he was a sadistic, violence-loving Korean. I felt like there were some insinuations that only nutty Asians could make a movie like Oldboy, but maybe i’m reading too much into it. A movie like Oldboy could never be made by Will Smith, plain and simple, because he isn’t ugly and tortured enough.
