Wall-E Catcall
While I was walking to work today I swear a construction worker whispered “Eveeaa” in my ear. While normally I am repulsed by such actions, this morning I almost turned around and responded “Walll-eee.” Maybe I should go back….Two things:
1) Kudos to this construction worker, he obviously gets his demo.
2) Did anyone else think Eve(-a) was kind of a bitch? I mean, Wall-E is like doing everything he can for her affection, and she doesn’t give him the time of day until he gets her the directive, I mean, come on.
She didn’t realize everything he’d done for her until after he gave her the plant, she took it back to the captain, and she watched the video that the captain had played from her memory. For me, it was one of the most poignant parts of the movie because it’s a uniquely robot take on how we as collective sentient beings can only realize and come to appreciate someone later.
