A mainlander friend of mine expressed to me the hope that one day he’d make it to Taipei. I remember reading Hou saying that he liked to do “Rain and Tears” at KTV. Yeah, the city’s got magic.

i’ve never been but always wanted to visit taipei - after all mine is a generation that grew up with vintage taiwan pop songs - for me mostly old men: luo dayou, li zongsheng, chen sheng.  my curiosity is also conditioned by films by cai mingliang, hou xiaoxian, etc.  yeah you never know.  if americans can travel to cuba now i’m sure one day i can visit taipei.
